2018 EPEAT Purchaser Award

On May 14, 2018, the Green Electronics Council awarded Berkeley Lab the 2018 Four-Star EPEAT Purchaser Award for purchasing sustainable IT products. Berkeley Lab received the highest number of stars available for the award and is one of ten organizations that achieved the Four-Star level. An organization is awarded one star for each product category in which all of the eligibility requirements have been met. The product categories are as follows:

  • PCs/displays (desktops, displays, notebooks, integrated desktop computers, workstation desktops, and thin clients)
  • Imaging equipment (copiers, digital duplicators, facsimile machines, mailing machines, multifunction devices, printers, scanners)
  • Televisions
  • Mobile phones

To apply for the EPEAT Purchaser Award, Jeannine Louie, Procurement’s Sr. eCommerce Operations and Sustainable Procurement Specialist led efforts to obtain and verify the data collected for submitting the award application. Collaborative efforts from the Lab’s Information Technology division department made it possible to achieve this award.
