Berkeley Lab Awarded the 2017 DOE GreenBuy Gold Award

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) recently awarded Berkeley Lab the prestigious GreenBuy Gold Award for FY2017 — the highest level for recognizing excellence of green purchasing. The GreenBuy Awards Program provides recognition for purchasing programs that obtain sustainable products to save energy, conserve water, and reduce health and environmental impact.

Berkeley Lab is one of four DOE sites that received the FY2007 GreenBuy Gold Award. The other recipients were Los Alamos National Laboratory, the Office of Scientific and Technical Information, and Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility.

To apply for the GreenBuy Award, Jeannine Louie of the Procurement & Property Department collected, analyzed, and verified data across the Lab’s three procurement channels, eBuy, ePro, and PCard.

If you would like to learn more about how to participate in or continue sustainable efforts by purchasing biobased, energy saving, and recycled items, please go to the Procurement & Property Department Sustainable Procurement webpage.
