Requester/Technical Representative on a Subcontract that May Involve an On-site Service

LBNL Policy: LBNL has implemented a 14-day self-isolation policy for asymptomatic travelers coming to the Lab from CDC Level 3 countries, currently China, South Korea, Italy, and Iran. Asymptomatic travelers are those who do not exhibit symptoms compatible with COVID-19 infection. If the incoming traveler becomes symptomatic, they should contact a healthcare provider.

Travelers coming from non-CDC Level 3 countries with symptoms compatible with COVID-19 infection should reduce exposure through self-isolation, and need to contact their health care provider. Individuals desiring to be tested or seeking guidance on when to return to work should also contact their health care provider.

The following Frequently Asked Questions from the CDC has useful information that can be shared with your subcontractors.

What should I do to protect myself against the virus?

Currently, there is no vaccine to prevent COVID-19 infection. The best way to prevent infection is to avoid being exposed to this virus. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends everyday preventive actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory viruses.

  • Wash your hands often with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60 percent alcohol if soap and water are not available.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Stay home and do not travel or go to work or school when you are sick.
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Then wash your hands with soap and water.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
